You are here to be challenged..

"You are here to be challenged not to be afraid but to know God"...My heart practically leapt for joy hearing these words in my sleep...I woke up saying it out loud enough...I was wowed... 😲 knowing fully well that this was God's answer to the frank conversation we had while waiting on Him the previous day. "Lord, I hope you know it's really hot down here... you seem so distant ... don't seem to know you anymore! Why am I not able to even do the things I would love to do for you? Is it a wrong timing? Am I moving too fast? ... there seem to be a hold on me ... no power to move... I can't go backwards neither can I move forward...the only thing I find able to do is to keep studying your word...meditating and hanging on every word!"...I  poured out my soul in prayer to the Lord but still felt quite heavy with an unusual stillness within.  His answer came in an unusual way...in my sleep! I woke up strengthened from within, giving Him thanks for respon...

He still loves you 😍

For we trust in our God And through His unfailing love We will not be shaken We will not be shaken We will not be shaken Though the battle rages We'll stand in the fight Though the armies rise up against us on all sides We will not be shaken We will not be shaken We will not be shaken... This song by Bethel music is really provocative! It takes courage to sing this song out of a strong conviction, trusting that God's love is able to keep and guide us even in the midst of personal and national crisis. We have not been called to face down but ladened with treasures to give hope.  For we know that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. It's awesome how I got the inspiration to write ✍️ even in the middle of the storms I faced in the course of the week, though discomforting but purpose propelled me to do this. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2: 10 Introspectively, God...

A few months ago( in 2022), I had the inspiration to transplant my 'mother' Aloe Vera plant which was reproducing so well, surrounded by daughter plants in a flower pot placed at our verandah. I observed that 'she' (Personally, I love plants and enjoy talking to them) needed a bigger space. So I planned to take her to the frontage of the house that obviously needed an uplift. My husband and I cleared the weeds at the frontage and prepared the soil for a garden. Afterwards, we transplanted her (the Aloe Vera). Meanwhile, one of our neighbors, an amazing elderly woman came and raised her concern that people will cut the plant principally for its medicinal value. I responded with a forced smile (out of fear) . After we finished gardening, my eldest son also came and asked; "Mum, why did you plant your Aloe Vera 🌵 outside? ...people will cut it o..." my fear over the safety of the plant heightened but I courageously retorted " I trust God to help me guard he...

What a Seizure!

Dear Esteemed Reader;  I have good news for you! There is wonderful joy ahead even though we have to endure many trials for a little while. Be encouraged! ☺️ It's amazing how God can bring sunshine out of the cloudiest day. 💫💫💞 Some years ago I embarked on a journey with high hopes to resume a new appointment at an organisation based in Delta State. Little did I know that my first assignment would be conducted en route. I arrived at the Lagos park as early as 6am to buy my bus ticket to Warri  (Delta State, Nigeria) and was rudely shocked to meet a long queue even at dawn. Exasperated by the rush and endless queue, I reluctantly joined hoping to pay for a bus equipped with air- conditioning (AC), however I was painfully disappointed when it got to my turn and was informed that the tickets for the AC- buses have been exhausted. With no feasible option in sight, I opted for the bus without AC. I overheard a plummy accent right behind me quizzing; "... but why? I came th...

" But mummy why don't you look like a mummy..? my youngest son (Seven years old at that time) asked me, he sternly said " the mummies of my friends in school are big!!!..but you look small like aunty Kate who is not married..." I knew there was no escape route this time from his interrogation (as it were). With my hands busy with needle work, I had to confront this moment of truth... lost in an animated train of thought, I reminded myself of who l am. "Segilola in Yoruba language means - Jewel 💎 is  Wealth. This name was bequeathed to me by my grandfather, Papa Titus Adefioye, a fastidious farmer from Ile- Ife, in Osun state, Nigeria. His father was a major dealer in Gold, and the name Wuraola (Gold is wealth) was likewise willed to me 💖. But when I consider the rock (hard place) from which I have been cut (groomed), I confidently make my boast in the Lord - I'm a rare jewel shaped with the hammer and chisel of adversity, adorned by the Master for His glo...

Daddy's Dance so Dandy 😂

When he walks into a room, his purposeful strides and genial smiles unlock treasures in the hearts of people in such a manner that they are captivated, and naturally gravitate towards him. That's my daddy! Mr Patrick Adefioye. ❤️🌹😍 I celebrate the great faithfulness of God upon his life as he clocked 78 on Thursday, January 19, 2023🎉🎉🎉. Such a winsome personality! He expresses his leadership using gifts of eloquence, outstanding relational and writing skills ( my dad is an artistic writer, his stylish  handwriting is unbeatable @78), to lead his community within Lagos suburban area through developmental projects and conflict resolutions. He chaired the community association for eight years, winning several awards and still very relevant in the political space. I'm intentional about eulogizing him while he's still full of life @78.  As humans, we all make mistakes, we all have weaknesses. I have learned to be more patient in dealing with his struggles. I'm now wiser...

"Eh.." is the 'local' sound the cutie pie😘 one year old son of my neighbor exclaims most mornings while his mum baths him...and it's actually the alarm that gets me out of bed particularly on Saturdays. I'm glad he's learning to take his first steps and as his mom counts and cheers him on with clapping outside, little does she know that a secret observer is peeping through the window upstairs.. counting as well..may I not be caught!😁 For I dare not miss out on such energizing moments. 😍❤️🏂 In effect, certain moments in your life create in you strongly positive emotions, yes, they are your 'strong moments' while some moments spark negative emotions.  Come rain or shine I choose to be more intentional about catching and cradling my strong moments this year...I wish I caught more last year..😍 Lately, I have been feeding voraciously on the choice pieces of knowledge from Marcus Buckingham's book : Find your Strongest Life ,  I couldn't ...
